Collection: Sarah Soward
Sarah Soward is a wildlife artist with a twist—bold color choices, non-standard poses, storytelling, and Surrealism. Much of her focus is on endangered animals, but she's up for anything wild! She strives to make sure her work is uniquely her own. Her artwork is based almost entirely on her own photographs and often incorporates non-standard animal poses. Think tailfeathers and rhinos touching horns.
Many of the stories in her work are about the transformative power of healing. They are sometimes paintings of persistence and strength and sometimes paintings of softness and healing. Her artwork also increases awareness and love for animals. Purchasing a piece of Sarah's artwork spreads the message of respect, love, and imagination while also brightening your home and heart. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Sarah's artwork is donated to the International Rhino Foundation.
Sarah holds a BFA from the California College of the Arts. She shows and competes internationally. Some highlights of her career include the acquisition of a painting by the Kentucky Derby Museum at Churchill Downs, acceptance of her work into the Wildlife Artist of the Year 2013, 2015, and 2017 exhibitions at the Mall Gallery in London, England, with her giraffe painting, Sky Creature, ending up in both the Londonist and the BBC Wildlife Magazine. Two of her rhinoceros paintings traveled with the Artist4Rhino exhibition in Italy, one of which was exhibited with the show at the Museo Civico de Storia Naturale di Genova.
